Senior Associate

Beth Shane represents entities and individuals in internal investigations, government investigations, and civil litigation.  Before joining Schilling Law, Ms. Shane served as a senior litigation associate at Patterson Belknap LLP and as a litigation associate in the white collar group at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.   From 2021 to 2022, Ms. Shane served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Margo Kitsy Brodie of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

 

Ms. Shane’s experience includes conducting sensitive internal investigations and representing clients in federal and state court in connection with employment disputes, contractual claims, and business torts.  She has also represented clients in connection with investigations and enforcement actions brought by the Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission.  Throughout her legal career, Ms. Shane has maintained an active pro bono practice, focusing on promoting prosecutorial accountability and advancing the rights of underserved communities.

 

Ms. Shane received her J.D. cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2018, and her B.A. magna cum laude from New York University in 2005, where she majored in English.  Ms. Shane earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of Iowa in 2012, where she designed and taught courses on American and British Literature.

 

Ms. Shane is admitted to the New York State Bar.
